All photos indoors, compact fluorescent lighting

Hello lovely readers!  After my disappointments with ORLY Androgynie, I headed back to ULTA a few days ago to pick up another color that had really caught my eye in swatch pictures from fellow bloggers.  I've actually been stalking my local ULTA waiting for the Essie Luxeffects collection, because I figured the best ones would be snapped up quick.  I actually liked several from the collection, but my budget could only handle one, so I went with Shine of the Times.

I love this color.  LOVE.  It was a bit of a pain to photograph in my little indoor pseudo-light box (remind me to show you that sometime...), and I had trouble capturing the reddish orange color, which is actually the dominant color in direct light!  Unfortunately, the weather has not been cooperative, so I couldn't get any outdoor pictures.

Shine of the Times applied smoothly and evenly.  The color is packed with little fish-food-flake sorts of particles that shift color, depending on the angle of the light.  I'd initially envisioned this color over a dark chocolate brown polish- I thought it would look like fall leaves.  Unfortunately, I don't have a dark chocolate brown polish, so I layered it over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bronze Ablaze instead, which is nice, but not the same.  I ended up using two coats of Shine of the Times to try to hide the bronze a little more, but this polish is plenty stunning with only one.

If you don't have one of these fun flake-y polishes, I'd highly suggest you run out and try to snap up a bottle of Shine of the Times.
