Midterms are upon us!  And as a result, I'm pretty much incapable of getting any blogging done.  My nails have been un-painted for two whole days!
BUT! I was rummaging through my image folder and found a manicure from December that somehow escaped posting, which I will share with you today.

I got Skyward Sword, the newest game in the Zelda franchise, for the Boyfriend for Christmas and both of us played it a fair amount over break (Although I still haven't finished the game).  The games have three recurring deities-- Nayru, Farore, and Din-- who are each represented by a symbol.  Nayru and Farore's symbols are made entirely of overlapping circles, making them ideal for some geeky nail art.

I decided to go with re-creating Nayru's symbol, mostly because I didn't have any good shades of green to use for Farore's.  Also, the Nayru-themed portion of the game may be my favorite.

I used China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le and ULTA Blue Streak to make this design.  The symbol next to the bottle is the game graphic for Nayru... I think I managed to recreate it decently.
I started with a layer of Sinful Color Basecoat (not pictured) and then added three (I think?) coats of China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le.  I made three large circles using ULTA Blue Streak and a pencil eraser.  Then I made a second circle using Secret Peri-wink-le, leaving a crescent of Blue Streak behind.  Finally, I made one more smaller dot with Blue Streak and topped everything off with a quick drying topcoat.

And there you have it.  Relatively subtle geeky nail art, that won't make everyone who looks at your hands think you're some sort of crazy person.  What do you think?
