This weekend I was thrilled to play host to Hannah (@giltriddenvintage on Instagram) and finally go treasure hunting with another vintage-ette in real life.  She's an amazing person and a fount of knowledge on dating pieces, so I forced her to go through all the costume jewelry I've inherited and help me pin down (ha) a little more information about it.  I feel like I've had quite the vintage education in these past few days!

We went out shopping on Saturday morning, not too worried about the weather since there was only a slight chance of snow, and that wasn't supposed to stick anyway... and just as we pulled into a parking spot in front of our first antiques shop, fat fluffy flakes started drifting down.  After finding a few good things in the first two shops we decided to head further north with cautious optimism that the weather people were right, but the snow didn't seem to have any intention of letting up!  I don't want to spoil too many shopping surprises, but we did quite well for ourselves with hats, Hannah found the tiniest pair of Bakelite hoop earrings, and I found a fantastic suit that actually fits (a miracle!).  We stopped to snap a few pictures before we scuttled back into car to wind our way back to shelter and warmth.
