I haven't been wearing elaborate nail art as much lately... partially because the dry winter has been hard on my hands, and partially because my clothes and other accessories have become so much more intricate.  I wouldn't want them to clash, you see.

I've discovered that painting my nails with a bare half-moon at the cuticle is a good way to bring together modern colors and designs with my vintage aesthetic.  Now I just need to convince them to grow into a slightly more elegant shape and I'll be in business!

I used Nubar Reclaim for the green (it's holographic in sunlight, but the weak filtered light coming in by the window doesn't show that very well) and outlined the edge of the bare moon with Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty to disguise any unevenness.

What do you think of mixing bold colors with vintage (ish) styles?  Would you do it?
