Ladies, it is warm today.  I realize this sounds silly, because as a Californian I should naturally be able to deal with all sorts of excessive heat, but this whole no air conditioning plus humidity and over 90 degrees?  It's a bit off-putting.  It's the kind of weather that makes a lady pack a folding fan in her bag for church so she doesn't have to fan herself with the program like everyone else.  It's the kind of weather that calls for unreasonably colorful ensembles and large glasses of iced coffee.

I'm usually pretty terrible about doing colorful outfits (Jessica is my inspiration, I usually only manage two colors, and one of those is usually black or white) but since I didn't have a red petticoat when I put this outfit together, I was forced to go outside of the bicolor box.  I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the result... I may have to make a few more bold forays into colorful clothing.

But first, I need another glass of iced coffee.  How are you beating the summer heat and keeping cool?
