Happy (extremely belated) Easter, I hope you and yours have had a pleasant and blessed holiday, whether it was Easter, Passover, or Viva Las Vegas!  Okay, maybe that last one is less likely to be blessed, unless it is by the Gods of Vintage Finds.

As I've mentioned a time or six, my fiance and I are both church musicians which means a lot of singing and not so much sleep when it comes time for a major holiday!  I had services to sing on Thurdsay and Sunday, and Doug had those and every day in between.  Since I wasn't singing Saturday night, I decided to attend Doug's vigil service, which I knew would be beautiful and quite impressive.

Now, there's nothing like Easter to make a person want to wear new things and get out spring clothes, and even though the weather apparently does not agree that it's time for spring clothes I could not resist the urge to break out a few new goodies for the occasion!  I snapped up a few things from Pin Up Girl Clothing during their online yard sale (it helps to be on the East Coast occasionally!) including one of their harlequin print Jenny skirts.  I've wanted to try the brand for a while and the yard sale gave me a great opportunity to try out the fit and quality of a few things without taking a big financial plunge.  I was a little leery of the colors in this particular skirt (as you may know, I'm not big on brown) but I was trying to get enough things to qualify for free shipping so I decided to go for it.  As it turned out, one of the other things I wanted was sniped from my cart while I was shopping so I didn't qualify for free shipping anyway, but I'm glad I ended up getting it anyway!  The quality, size, and fit are really great for me, and now I feel like I can order some things from full-price collections without fear.  (Hellooooo Mary Blair prints!)

I also snapped up a new pair of shoes (nude heels are clearly an essential) from Modcloth on clearance.  These adorable Miss L Fires were marked all the way down to half off and the last pair left was exactly my size.  They're remarkably comfy and I'm glad to have a go-with-anything pair of shoes in such a versatile color.  I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of them when I'm trying to assemble more colorful outfits and want to avoid black pumps.
