NOTD: Shattered Lavender Gradient

If you’ve spent much time looking at blogs or taking photographs, you are probably already aware that a camera’s least favorite color is purple.  Especially purples that lean to the blue-ish side.  So even with some photoshop fiddling, I haven’t been able to get these photos color-accurate.  They’re close-ish, but not perfect.

I haven’t used many of the stamps where the stamping color takes up the majority of the nail plate before… I rather like them!  I think the negative crackle image on my ring fingers would have looked better with a more strongly colored gradient, though.

For this look, I painted each nail with a thin coat of OPI Rumple’s Wiggin’ to make it easier to build the gradient.  Then I used a cosmetic sponge wedge with Rumple’s Wiggin’ on one end and China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-le to create a gradient.  I had to go over each nail at least three times, and it made a terrible mess all over my fingers.  I did a little rough cleanup with a Q-tip, and then stamped the shattered  designs from Bundle Monster Image Plate BM-208.  I used the darker image for my ring fingers and the lighter image for all the rest.
