As I mentioned, we got our Christmas tree put up last weekend! It’s a short little thing (it claims to be 6 feet tall… I think they stretched it!) but it works, and once you get enough lights and decorations on, you almost don’t notice how scrawny it is.
I’ve decorated my tree in white, silver, and blue for the past several years, but Doug picked up a box of ornaments cheaply at Goodwill that had a bunch of red and purple ornaments, so we ended up going with that color scheme this year. We needed a few more ornaments to fill out the tree, so Doug picked out these wintertime diorama ornaments at Michael’s along with some utilitarian velvety red spheres.
I picked up small artificial birds.
I’d been thinking of picking up some more seasonal hair decorations, and the glittered birds seemed just about perfect. I’m sure they’re meant to be clipped on tree branches, but I like them clipped to my hair. I really wish I had an appropriate hat to perch them on, actually, but I’ll settle for this until I do.
