The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring (tra-la)

It feels like this spring has taken a long time to start getting green.  It’s hard to feel terribly springy when everything is just a massive tangle of grey and brown branches and dead leaves.  In the last week, though, things have finally started to make headway and trees are starting to bloom and push new growth.

So although brown and black aren’t terribly spring-y colors, I decided to take some inspiration from nature for this outfit, and I’m really pleased with the end result!  The main focal point for the ensemble is the little brown hat.  The colors and crown of small white flowers seemed quite springy.  The hat itself is a bit of a mystery, though… see, I got it at Christmas time but nobody in my household would confess to ordering it!  My mom’s side of the family always does a bit of a secret Santa sort of gift exchange, so perhaps it was ordered by one of them, but the box was straight from Etsy so we have no idea who the original buyer was!
