A Burgundy Suit and Rocket Originals

I’m always combing Etsy for suits that might fit me, which is a more difficult task than it really seems like it should be. When I spotted this burgundy number well within my suit budget and in measurements that looked like they would work, I wasted no time snapping it up.

I was absolutely thrilled with the cut and the fit when it came in the mail, and after a little bit of TLC (and letting the hem down as far as it would go) it’s the perfect addition to my wardrobe for fall and winter. I already have grand plans to pair it with the green coat from my last post for Christmas, but for a first fall wearing I decided to pair it with goldenrod instead.

The hat and sweater I’ve worn together before, and the color combination gave me an excuse to wear another new addition before the weather gets way too cold.

Yellow shoes! I’ve been on a quest for yellow shoes for a while, and I’ve wanted to try Rocket Originals for quite a while as well, so when I saw that they had some really fantastic yellow shoes it seemed like the perfect opportunity to take the plunge. I consulted with the size chart, the internet, and people I tracked down on Instagram who had the same shoes, and determined that they ran pretty true to UK size. I ordered a size 7 (I wear a US 9) and was thrilled to discover that they fit perfectly right out of the box. I loved them so much on first wearing, in fact, that I went right back to their site and ordered a pair in another style, but those will have to wait in the closet until spring.
