It has been awfully quiet around here. I know.
There are lots of reasons for this. The weather is too hot, the weather is too rainy, I’m tired, I don’t know what to write (probably a topic for a post itself, heh)… but most recently, the reason I haven’t been blogging, or in fact doing much of anything aside from sitting on the couch working on my latest sweater is that I broke my foot.
I didn’t even break it in a particularly dramatic or exciting way, either. One moment I was sitting on my bed, working on something on the computer, and the next I was sprawled on the floor in the hallway regretting several of my recent decisions. In short, if your foot ever falls asleep while you’re sitting down, you should make sure it’s awake before you start walking!
Anyways, I made myself a doctors’ appointment, where they confirmed that I had indeed broken my foot, got me some crutches, and sent me off to get the least glamorous boot that you ever did see.
I snagged these pictures between getting the crutches and getting the boot, but suffice to say that I haven’t been in a mood to do much of anything, not that I could if I wanted to, and wearing a giant boot on one foot is seriously cramping my style. If you’ve been following along on Instagram you might have noticed that most of my recent posts have only been from the waist up for exactly that reason. Fortunately one of my new pairs of shoes from Royal Vintage Shoes is almost exactly the same height as my moon boot, so I’m at least well-shod on one foot.
So that’s my tale of woe. Don’t break your foot, folks.
