Stripes on Sunday

Around here, the old adage “April showers bring May flowers” seems to be true!  Back home in California, things are already drying up by May, and most spring blossoms are past, but here in New England everything is decked in pink and yellow and fuchsia (see also: a color that I tried to spell a dozen times before giving up and asking Google), and there are daffodils and tulips and hyacinths everywhere.

I was quite pleased to discover that this dress still zipped after a long snowy winter (it’s always been one of the smallest in my closet) and it seemed like the perfect choice to welcome the return of warm weather.  Unfortunately, I really don’t have a hat that goes with it at all, so I had to make do with a giant flower instead.  And the usual out-of-control victory rolls that I’ve been wearing to work these days.
